What the game is

Gol Contra is a social-deduction game for 5 to 10 players: a football club chasing the title, and a betting mafia hidden in the squad, fixing matches. Loyal players win the cup with five clean results or by selling the boss; the mafia wins by fixing enough matches or by getting its boss approved as camisa 10.

You can play it in the browser at own-goal.mellofattura.com, or in the iPhone app. Players on the web and players in the app share the same lobby just fine.

When something goes wrong

The lobby disappeared

Lobbies close after 10 minutes with nobody connected, or when the host ends the table. Open another one and call everyone back.

I dropped and want my seat back

Rejoin with the same lobby code and the same name while the lobby is still open. The name is what gives the seat back, including on another device or after clearing stored data — you do not need the token the last device kept.

If the old device is still in the lobby, close it or wait until the seat is absent. While it is present, that name is taken. Your role, your votes and your position come back with you.

The match won't start

The host starts it. Bots complete the squad up to 5; the maximum is 10.

The host left

The game hands hosting to the next present human player. Nobody has to do anything.
