What’s coming to this blog
by Marcello Gonzatto Birkan, Founder
I started Mellofattura because I wanted the work itself to be the argument. This is where I plan to show it.
What I'll write about here
Project stories first, in the messy version rather than the tidy retrospective: the constraint that forced a rewrite, or the decision that looked wrong for a week and right after launch. Those are the parts I still remember a year later.
Then engineering notes. Realtime data on Convex, Next.js in production on Vercel, SwiftUI on Apple platforms. AI features too, including the question of whether a given one is worth adding, which gets asked less often than it should.
And practices, with the reasoning attached. A rule is only useful if you know when to break it, so I would rather write down the tradeoff than hand over the rule.
The first posts are coming
I write these as the projects finish, so the details are still intact instead of reconstructed months later. If you want to talk about a project before then, tell me about it. That conversation tends to be more useful than any post anyway.
